No Arcehole Please !!!!

" Whenever I encounter a mean-spirited person, the first thing that hit my mind is " Wow, What an Asshole! " thats how Robert Sutton starts his amusing management book tittled " NO ASSHOLE RULE " and this piece of writing is completely inspired by the book and the desire to share my experiences working with Asia's largest software firm. This article would show you my experiences with such "Arceholes " in and around my workplaces. You may call such people bullies, creeps, jerks, weasels, dolts, blockheads, dunderheads or simply idiots but for me at least "Arcehole" captures the frustration and disappointments of everyone of us encountering such a mean personality.I bet you would also feel so,especially being in the situation I am about to depict.

I was flung far down south in Coimbatore, TamilNadu for initial training. My first encounter with persistently nasty and destructive jerk was my HR head, "RadheKrishna" (Name changed to protect innocent and guilty !!!).He was a villain of the Coimbatore. On the very first day he came to our class with some important but funny topics to discuss. He came into the class like a wind storm, rushing towards the table, frightening the fresh college cluster as if ' Ashrani-the famous jailer from legendary Sholey,' saying " Angrezo ke Zamane ke Jailer hai hum ".Wagging his head, with his finger plugged in the ear as if eardrum of grubby ear is being moved manually,he used to start his conversation on harsh and rude pitch. While talking to us his mobile inevitably start yelling and this moment shows his Arcehole characteristics. While talking on phone with someone he makes us express our point. Feeling quite disgusted we dry up expressing and then he starts giving us lectures on how to be expressive, extrovert. He was a Certified Arcehole. The certified status can be availed only when the person display a persistent pattern,to have a history of episodes that end with one 'target' after another feeling belittled ,put down, humiliated, disrespected, oppressed, de-energized and generally worse about themselves.

For the second phase of the training I came to Mumbai where i met with yet another Arcehole, she was my training coordinator, Ms.Singh, A moaning Myrtle of Harry-Potter series. She was such a grief personality that even moaning Myrtle would laugh on her.Nobody in the whole office was fortunate enough to see her happy .

After the completion of my training I met another blue and crude personality. She was my RMG - A person looking after the allocations of the project to unallocated persons. Her Arcehole characteristics unearthed when I talked to her for the first time.I called her requesting her cubicle address said," I am a fresh trainee and am suppose to report you as you are the concern RMG." Her reply stunned me, she replied ungraciously " Then Report to my desk, why do you call me ??? ".I have never expected such an ill-mannered,uncouth reply from a person dealing with Human Resource Management. From that day onward I have been reporting her everyday and our conversation ends within exchange of mare 6 words.
"ANY UPDATES? " I always asks her."NO UPDATES." her rude reply end with exchange of these 4 words.
"SO ? " would be my next question and " GO. " used to be the 6th word of our exchange from her side.Thats how we usually talk. So crisp and clear.

For last 3 month being in the leading company of the industry,I met with lot many people and a few Arcehole. Reading this,I bet you must also be thinking about the Arcehole you last met.Such a horrified effect on one's innocent mind made me write this article on "Certified Arceholes".

First of all, Congratulations for starting a new blog.

Interesting topic mate!!

I think this is the story of every individual who works in the Indian Software Industry.

Taking a leaf from mine and Tarkik's book and using some good words is commendable.

Keep writing mate!!

(donot use the word "mate" in your blog, not a good word.)

Truth revealed!!! Your piece of writing looks in complete sync with Asia's largest 'Arcehole' IT organization.
The whole shit of dealing and carrying out the business by them seems very 'Arcehole'. Freshers are no more than 'Arce****' for them. (Sorry for repiting the same word, i just cant help falling in love with the word)
Dude, keep on posting some more eye-opening, jaw-dropping insights of our organzation.

Cheers,
A fan of yours!!
